This turbo is a "male" !
76mm inducer on compressor and 68mm exducer on the turbine. This is a "beast" in the range of 300-1000 hp, it will spool-up much faster than any other normal "squared" configured 76mm turbo. It is a perfect match for those going for 700-100hp on small or big sized displacement. This turbo is commonly used on 2.0L and upwards sized engines on quatermile or touring race applications. It will provide positive boost extremely fast due to the combination of big compressor and small turbine wheel. From the compressor map it tells that it only requires less than 95.500 shaft rpm at all times to deliver 1000hp. This is a huge advantage when paired with a 68mm turbine exducer. Other competitor ball bearing units requires up to 115.000 shaft rpm for 700hp when analysing compressor maps (though, few suppliers have compressor map made and available).
The MPR7768-T4TS racing turbo has a very agressive sized wheel configuration ensuring extremly fast spool-up and easily providing "cold" air all over the scale. Utilizing twin scroll turbine on the 68mm turbine wheel ensures the backpressure is intelligent seperated across the banks and strokes. This is a huge advantage both in terms of spool-up and low backpressure.
The 68mm turbine exducer is a huge advantage to spool-up and overall performance. Having a 68mm exducer turbine wheel and a large 76mm compressor inducer which requires much less shaft rotations on boost-target level, we are able to wastegate exhaust gas much sooner and in much greater amount. Backpressure is hence kept on a minimum. Your prober sized wastegate(s) will have much more flow when on boost-target levels than ever before, and for those understanding the psysics behind the "balance score-card" (boost vs. backpressure), know this means power!
This turbo is one of our top-selling racing units and for reasons that is simply provide results on small or bigger sized displacement that only a few years back was thought impossible. We have seen seveeral race teams gaining more power and up to 1500rpm sooner spool-up compared to other highend single scroll ball bearing billet turbos.
